Edisun Microgrids, Inc. is the brainchild of Bill Gross, founder of renowned technology incubator, Idealab. Bill has founded many innovative companies including several in solar energy such as eSolar®, RayTracker, Thermata, and EI Solutions. Bill is a lifelong entrepreneur, starting his first solar business in high school. Bill serves on the boards of directors of numerous companies and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of California Institute of Technology and the Art Center College of Design. Mr. Gross received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California Institute of Technology.
Vikas Tuteja is a business development, finance and strategy professional with experience as an investor, management consultant and engineer. Prior to his involvement in the renewable sector, Vikas was an investor at several hedge and mutual funds. He was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company and an Engineer at Ford Motor Company where he received two patents. Vikas received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and his BSEE from GMI Engineering & Management Institute.
Steve Schell comes to Edisun from Idealab-founded company New Matter, having led the company since 2014. Steve has 15 years of experience working with startups and venture capital backed companies and has forged a passion for bringing new technologies to market and leading diverse and talented teams. His work in product development, customer programs, IP generation, manufacturing engineering, product reliability and global supply chain translate well to Edisun's roadmap. He has developed products ranging from utility-scale solar power generators to consumer goods, and has patents in solar thermal energy, robotics, and 3D printing. Steve holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech.
Prior to joining Edisun in 2016, Conrad Chase spent over 12 years in business development, project development and project finance roles. Most recently Conrad served as the Director of Project Finance for Inovateus Solar, a Midwest-based solar developer and EPC. His work at Inovateus was preceded by executive-level business development roles in the technology, mining and metals industries. Conrad has extensive experience doing business globally, with a focus on Asia, North and South America. He is fluent in Spanish and received his B.S. in International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
